Grey Sideboards
Let's talk about Grey sideboards because I'm working on three this month!
I have one medium bow fronted sideboard with four central drawers and a cupboard on either side in stock and ready to ship immediately - the majority of the photos are of this sideboard. The sideboard has been updated with a matte ash grey acrylic paint and a touch up pot will be provided to keep your piece in perfect condition for years to come. The original handles are solid brass and have been restored and lacquered. Each cupboard is closed and opened using a key and both original keys are included. If you pop me a message after purchase, I will make you a set of custom tassels for the keys in up to two colours. Theinterior has been lightly used by its previous owner so I simply cleaned and polished it with lemon polish so it smells gorgeous! Measurements: 1305mm wide x 870mm tall x 350mm / 455mm deep (end / middle). If this isn't the one for you then read on rather than buying now! I've shown 'multi-pix' of other grey sideboards that I've worked on.My grey sideboards are based on quality preloved pieces - mostly reproduction and exceptionally crafted veneered items. They are usually stripped back to the bare wood before priming, undercoating and painting in grey matte acrylic paint and the shade can vary from a pale almost white grey, through mid greys, blue greys and darkest greys. An additional topcoat in matte, satin or gloss can also be added. The original handles are either replaced or refinished in stunning gold chrome - or your own choice of finish like antiqued brass or silver chrome. The insides are cleaned and polished.
All my pieces are upcycled and use preloved furniture and whilst they have been given a complete upgrade, there may be still be limited signs of their vintage provenance. Please review all photos before purchase - thank you! Any type of sideboard style or size can be sourced for you. I hold a number of sideboards in stock and can source something to meet your requirements. You will receive a number of options to choose from before I ask for a deposit and we proceed with the makeover. Prices shown for small, medium, large and bow front units are for illustration purposes only with the final price depending on the costs of raw units and exclude the handle prices which are added at cost price. The sideboard needs to be washed, prepared and any repairs made before we start. It will then be undercoated in a suitable undercoat and spray painted with multiple coats of a grey acrylic paint. I will finish in an ultra matte, satin or gloss topcoat to make sure that it stands up to everyday usage. The interiors of sideboards not usually touched (apart from cleaning) but these could also be painted and refinished for an additional fee. Navy Blue Sideboards
OOOH... Navy Blue sideboards. One of my most popular upcycled items!
I have one small bow fronted sideboard with two drawers over two cupboards in stock and ready to ship immediately. The original handles have been refinished in bright gold and the interior has been lightly used by its previous owner so I simply cleaned and polished it with lemon polish so it smells gorgeous! Ivory Cream ‘Safari’ Bedroom Furniture
These three drawer solid pine bedside cabinet tables are deceptively subtle with a beautifully drawn safari of animals in grey and silver strolling across the surface savannahs.
Each cabinet is painted in an ivory cream acrylic paint on the outside and on the visible drawer edges. Each flat surface has been decoupaged in an African animal themed wallpaper with a silver shine which includes Giraffes, Elephants, Hippos and Zebras. This has then been sealed in with two coats of satin varnish to protect from wear and tear.
Drawer interiors are lined with the same paper and finished with an heavy silver metal ethnic bird handle.

I have numerous 'raw' pine bedsides in stock with plain bases / bun feet and flat / curved tops which you can choose from if you commission bedsides in this design. Typical dimensions: 400-500mm wide x 380-450mm deep x 590-700mm high.

Vintage Farmhouse Country Oak Hand Painted Sideboards

King Skull Charcoal & Silver Bedroom Furniture
These three drawer solid pine bedside cabinets have been professionally upcycled and given an edgy and striking makeover.
Each cabinet is painted in a hardwearing acrylic paint that is such a dark grey it is also black. Each flat surface has been decoupaged in a textured vinyl wallpaper that features crowned skulls in a glittery silver.
The handles are classic, simple silver cones and the drawers have been been lined with the same skull design paper .
Price is per cabinet and they are made to order on a commission basis (approx 4-6 weeks) using a similar cabinet that you will approve before the makeover starts.

Floral Blue & White English Countryside Bedside Cabinet(s)
These solid pine bedside cabinets are subtle and sophisticated featuring a floral pattern using motifs from the English countryside
Each cabinet is painted in a white acrylic paint with a soft grey undertone. Each flat surface has been decoupaged in a blue, white and silver wallpaper that features roses/dahlias, foxgloves and poppies. This has then been sealed with two coats of satin varnish to protect it.
The handles are real ridged glass flowers with a silver centre and the drawers have been been lined with the same floral design paper .

Black Velvet Bristow Easy Chairs
These lovely Original Bristow Easy Chairs were originally owned by a couple who had them from new when they were first married back in the 1960s. They are preloved and have been a part of a wonderful life. They have now been reloved by Glasshouse Girl and are ready to be a start a new story as a part of a your home. I have two chairs available and the price quoted is per chair.
Each chair has been completely stripped down to the bare wood and painted in a black acrylic. The interior foams have been replaced to bring them up to modern fire safety standards.
The upholstery fabric is a black textured soft velvet with a geometric hexagons and triangles design from Studio G (part of Clarke and Clarke). The Lustro Loreto design in Jet ticks both the modern and retro styles simultaneously!
With a sprung base and seat back underneath and thick incredibly comfortable foam pad, these Easy chairs are the perfect mid-century feature piece for you to melt into after a long day.

‘Snakebite in Black’ Side Tables / Cabinets
This pair of very old vintage pot cupboards have been given a Glasshouse Girl makeover and turned into stylish side tables perfect for a modern bedroom, hallway or living room. Just because your interior style favours the subtle, furniture with a pop of colour on the inside can brighten your day!
Each cupboard has been carefully prepared, undercoated and painted in hardwearing matte acrylic paint. The outsides are black and the insides deliver a massive pop of hot pink. The shelves have then been lined with pink snakeskin wallpaper to add even more interest. Simple pink resin and brass t-bar handles from Graham and Green complete the look.
Single Shelf Cabinet dimensions: 403mm wide x 400mm deep x 740mm high
Double Shelf Cabinet dimensions: 414mm wide x 400mm deep x 767mm high

Black & White Monochrome Floral Patterned Bedroom Furniture
These 3 drawer solid pine bedside cabinets have been lovingly upcycled and rescued from obscurity with coal black paint and decoupage.
The decoupage is a floral motif featuring curvy lines and floral patterns which when seen from a distance is bold geometric whilst it gets more floral and feminine up close.
The handles are a simple black cage which blends seamlessly with the black pattern.
The units are finished with two coats of a resin based varnish to protect them from wear and tear.
Dimensions: 405mm wide x 340mm deep x 560mm high
The paper used is now out of print but I have enough left to create a matching chest of drawers which would be approximately £360 depending on size of the chest of drawers - please contact me to discuss.

Apple Green Rustic Farmhouse Sideboard
This classic oak sideboard features carved details and has a primitive styling which really reflects a spring time English country lifestyle.
The main unit has been painted in a custom mixed apple green coloured acrylic paint, lightly distressed and antique glazed to give it an authentic time worn style. The original brass handles have been repolished and lacquered to keep them looking bright and shiny.
The top has been completely stripped back to the wood, stained with a dark oak wood dye and made durable with a finishing coat of a hardwearing matt floor oil.
The original works are still in good working order and complimentary tassels have been added to the handles.
The interior has been cleaned up and painted in an off-white acrylic paint. To add a bit of interest when you open the drawers, I have used Laura Ashley's 'Summer Palace' wallpaper in the Duck Egg colourway. With the vibrant duck egg / aqua blue base, pink birds and yellow / pink flowers, the interior is as interesting at the outside.
Dimensions: 1340mm wide x 480mm deep x 905mm high.
As this is a preloved piece with an aged and distressed finish, please examine all the photos carefully before purchase - thank you!
Condition notes:
- the left hand door needs to be pressed gently to when opening the lock with the key.
- the right hand door needs the key to not be pushed all the way in when unlocking!
- The back right corner of the top has a visible crack but this is completely stable and does not move or distract from the finish.
Extra flex cable for lamps
All lamps from Glasshouse Girl are made using two metres of flex cable (unless otherwise stated). This means that lamps typically have between 1.2 and 1.5m from the exit point of the lamp to the plug.
If you would like extra flex cable installed on your lamp, please add it to your order here. The cable used will be the same cable as the existing and the lamp will be freshly PAT (safety) tested. If you would like other customisation, please contact me for a quote.
The price shown is per metre, so you if would like to have the cable from the point of exit to be 2m select quantity 2, for 3m select quantity 3 etc.
‘Flamingo’ Bedroom Furniture
These two drawer solid pine bedside cabinets have been given a gentle, feminine and glamourous makeover reminiscent of Hollywood's Golden Age.
Each cabinet has been painted in a custom mixed antique white acrylic paint and the flat surfaces have been decoupaged in a flamingo themed wallpaper from Sanderson. This paper is from the Vintage Collection II in the blush / ivory colourway and the blush pink print has a delicate metallic finish. They have then been finished with two coats of satin varnish to seal and protect from wear and tear.
Iridescent glass bubbles handles from Anthropologie perfectly pick out the pink and white glamour of the flamingo paper.
Dimensions: 440m wide x 400mm deep x 455mm high.
