Mermaid Blue & Teak Bow Front Bedside Chest of Drawers
This lovely pair of vintage solid teak chest of drawers are the perfect storage side table or fabulous large bedside tables. They have been stripped down and the body painted in a custom-mixed traditionally grained milk paint. The colour is a dark blue with a hint of green which I am calling 'Mermaid Blue'. When you are close-up, the handpainted milk paint creates interesting striations of colour reminiscent of the deep ocean. The colour changes depending on the light from teal through to a deep blue depending on this light as you can see from the photos.
The tops have been stained dark walnut and the handy pull-out panels have a gold keyline detail.
The whole piece has been sealed using a very hardwearing satin hardwax oil.
The stunning sunburst drop ring handles are solid brass and have a delightful vintage patina.
Please note, this is a handpainted milk paint finish which is designed to show off differences in colour, speckling and flaws in the wood. These pieces were likely handmade and carved so should not be considered 'perfect'. This in no way detracts from the overall look and indeed creates a genuine shabby chic finish which is truly beautiful. I have, of course, included lots of detailed photos and close-up photos for you to review before purchase.

Parisian Stripe Floral Bedside Tables
These classic Stag bedside tables feature wide Parisian style stripes in a classic taupe and ivory. The top has been kept classic in the neutral taupe whilst the striped sides and front of the drawers feature that extra touch of oh la la with creamy white Magnolia flowers.
A secret pull out table top extension makes them extra useful giving you the perfect place to pop your book or teacup when enjoying a well deserved lie-in on a Sunday.
The original floral handles have been polished and lacquered to keep the classic brass shining bright. All surfaces have been sealed in tough acrylic varnish.

Burr Walnut & Black Bow Front Chest of Drawers
This bow fronted chest of drawers has been given a dramatic modern makeover. The original varnish has been removed, the frame painted in black acrylic paint and the whole piece has then been oiled with a clear satin hardwax oil to make the burr walnut veneers pop. The original brass handles have been cleaned and lacquered to maintain their brilliance.
A rare and unique find, this chest of drawers will provide a stylish focal point and useful storage for your home.

Grey Sideboards
Let's talk about Grey sideboards because I'm working on three this month!
I have one medium bow fronted sideboard with four central drawers and a cupboard on either side in stock and ready to ship immediately - the majority of the photos are of this sideboard. The sideboard has been updated with a matte ash grey acrylic paint and a touch up pot will be provided to keep your piece in perfect condition for years to come. The original handles are solid brass and have been restored and lacquered. Each cupboard is closed and opened using a key and both original keys are included. If you pop me a message after purchase, I will make you a set of custom tassels for the keys in up to two colours. Theinterior has been lightly used by its previous owner so I simply cleaned and polished it with lemon polish so it smells gorgeous! Measurements: 1305mm wide x 870mm tall x 350mm / 455mm deep (end / middle). If this isn't the one for you then read on rather than buying now! I've shown 'multi-pix' of other grey sideboards that I've worked on.My grey sideboards are based on quality preloved pieces - mostly reproduction and exceptionally crafted veneered items. They are usually stripped back to the bare wood before priming, undercoating and painting in grey matte acrylic paint and the shade can vary from a pale almost white grey, through mid greys, blue greys and darkest greys. An additional topcoat in matte, satin or gloss can also be added. The original handles are either replaced or refinished in stunning gold chrome - or your own choice of finish like antiqued brass or silver chrome. The insides are cleaned and polished.

Navy Blue Sideboards
OOOH... Navy Blue sideboards. One of my most popular upcycled items!

Black Velvet Bristow Easy Chairs
These lovely Original Bristow Easy Chairs were originally owned by a couple who had them from new when they were first married back in the 1960s. They are preloved and have been a part of a wonderful life. They have now been reloved by Glasshouse Girl and are ready to be a start a new story as a part of a your home. I have two chairs available and the price quoted is per chair.
Each chair has been completely stripped down to the bare wood and painted in a black acrylic. The interior foams have been replaced to bring them up to modern fire safety standards.
The upholstery fabric is a black textured soft velvet with a geometric hexagons and triangles design from Studio G (part of Clarke and Clarke). The Lustro Loreto design in Jet ticks both the modern and retro styles simultaneously!
With a sprung base and seat back underneath and thick incredibly comfortable foam pad, these Easy chairs are the perfect mid-century feature piece for you to melt into after a long day.

‘Snakebite in Black’ Side Tables / Cabinets
This pair of very old vintage pot cupboards have been given a Glasshouse Girl makeover and turned into stylish side tables perfect for a modern bedroom, hallway or living room. Just because your interior style favours the subtle, furniture with a pop of colour on the inside can brighten your day!
Each cupboard has been carefully prepared, undercoated and painted in hardwearing matte acrylic paint. The outsides are black and the insides deliver a massive pop of hot pink. The shelves have then been lined with pink snakeskin wallpaper to add even more interest. Simple pink resin and brass t-bar handles from Graham and Green complete the look.
Single Shelf Cabinet dimensions: 403mm wide x 400mm deep x 740mm high
Double Shelf Cabinet dimensions: 414mm wide x 400mm deep x 767mm high

Black ‘Croc’ Storage Sideboard
This is an excellent example of my 'Croc' range of furniture using an original vintage 'Strongbow Furniture' sideboard.
The external frame has been painted black and the top, sides and door front decoupaged with a textured black/grey mock croc paper. The piece has then been sealed with multiple coats of a resin based varnish to protect and maintain its good looks.
As a final flourish, the original brass hardware has been fully restored and adds a bit of glitz to the sideboard's subtle and elegant good looks.

This sideboard has three doors and two pull out drawers behind the central door. The interior has been cleaned and buffed to show the beautiful original wood. Coming up to just above waist height, this sideboard has an incredible amount of storage which is ideal for modern living.

‘Stud U Love’ Black Leather Tub Chairs
These leather tub chairs had their previous life as an uninspiring navy reception chair until they got the full Glasshouse Girl treatment!
The original brown studding was removed and the wooden frames stripped back to the bare wood. The genuine leather upholstery is thick and soft making these chairs incredibly comfortable and has been restained jet black.
The frame has been repainted in a modern matte black acrylic paint.
Inspired by the work of New York designer Lee Broom, I've made the studding on these chairs their highlight feature. I've selected a range of decorative upholstery studs in different shapes and colours including flowers, footballs, honeycombs, squares, blacks, glitters, silver, chrome and brass.
Dimensions: 625mm wide x 590mm deep x 775mm high.
