This delightful reproduction vintage dresser / dressing table has been given a modernising makeover in black and natural wood. The top and drawer fronts feature a lovely geometric inlay and have been stained in a walnut tone before sealing in hardwearing hardwax oil to make the grain and the inlay pop. The frame, side panels and mirror have been painted in a high quality matt black acrylic furniture paint. The Regency style wreath handles and castor feet have been refinished in a striking gold that pops against the black and walnut finish. The oval mirror has a fabulous bevelled edge and with three generous drawers and small under mirror drawer, this is just the perfect place to get ready for work or a fabulous night out. Silver & Black Dragon Stencilled Resin & Aluminium Table

These Graham & Greene aluminium side tables have been given a Glasshouse Girl revamp and upgrade. The heavy weight aluminium tables have been repolished to a high shine showing off their elegant silver beauty, The top has then been stencilled with a black dragon mandala design which has then been sealed with glossy resin for a domed finish. Dimensions: 600mm diameter x 585mm high. Black & Gold Classical Stencilled Side Table

This lovely side table has been given a classic makeover in black and gold that gives a subtle nod to the classical Graeco-Roman style. The table has been painted in a soft matte black acrylic and a sparkling gold design stencilled on top. The top has then been sealed in a hardwearing varnish. Dimensions: 535mm diameter x 585mm high. Vintage Serpentine Sideboard Decoupaged in Lacroix ‘La Main au Collet’ Paper

This stylish vintage sideboard with a serpentine front and dagger legs has been given a modern 'shabby luxe' makeover. The piece has been painted black and then decoupaged with Christian Lacroix's 'La Main au Collet' wallpaper by Designers Guild in the Galet colourway. This is a lovely neutral beige with black illustrations of gemstones and jewellery that features cherubs, rings, hearts and jewel details with a traditional feel. The original lion's head handles have been refinished in black and the piece has been sealed in a hardwearing satin varnish. Dimensions: 1380mm wide x 480mm deep (at the deepest point) x 855mm high. Black Velvet Bristow Easy Chairs

These lovely Original Bristow Easy Chairs were originally owned by a couple who had them from new when they were first married back in the 1960s. They are preloved and have been a part of a wonderful life. They have now been reloved by Glasshouse Girl and are ready to be a start a new story as a part of a your home. I have two chairs available and the price quoted is per chair. Each chair has been completely stripped down to the bare wood and painted in a black acrylic. The interior foams have been replaced to bring them up to modern fire safety standards. The upholstery fabric is a black textured soft velvet with a geometric hexagons and triangles design from Studio G (part of Clarke and Clarke). The Lustro Loreto design in Jet ticks both the modern and retro styles simultaneously! With a sprung base and seat back underneath and thick incredibly comfortable foam pad, these Easy chairs are the perfect mid-century feature piece for you to melt into after a long day. ‘Snakebite in Black’ Side Tables / Cabinets

This pair of very old vintage pot cupboards have been given a Glasshouse Girl makeover and turned into stylish side tables perfect for a modern bedroom, hallway or living room. Just because your interior style favours the subtle, furniture with a pop of colour on the inside can brighten your day! Each cupboard has been carefully prepared, undercoated and painted in hardwearing matte acrylic paint. The outsides are black and the insides deliver a massive pop of hot pink. The shelves have then been lined with pink snakeskin wallpaper to add even more interest. Simple pink resin and brass t-bar handles from Graham and Green complete the look. Black & White Monochrome Floral Patterned Bedroom Furniture

These 3 drawer solid pine bedside cabinets have been lovingly upcycled and rescued from obscurity with coal black paint and decoupage. The decoupage is a floral motif featuring curvy lines and floral patterns which when seen from a distance is bold geometric whilst it gets more floral and feminine up close. The handles are a simple black cage which blends seamlessly with the black pattern. The units are finished with two coats of a resin based varnish to protect them from wear and tear. Dimensions: 405mm wide x 340mm deep x 560mm high The paper used is now out of print but I have enough left to create a matching chest of drawers which would be approximately £360 depending on size of the chest of drawers - please contact me to discuss. Black ‘Croc’ Storage Sideboard

This is an excellent example of my 'Croc' range of furniture using an original vintage 'Strongbow Furniture' sideboard. The external frame has been painted black and the top, sides and door front decoupaged with a textured black/grey mock croc paper. The piece has then been sealed with multiple coats of a resin based varnish to protect and maintain its good looks. As a final flourish, the original brass hardware has been fully restored and adds a bit of glitz to the sideboard's subtle and elegant good looks. Strongbow Furniture has been creating high-quality furniture for over 140 years and uses the finest timbers, veneers and polishes. Each piece is made by experienced cabinet-makers who combine traditional skills and modern production technology. This sideboard has three doors and two pull out drawers behind the central door. The interior has been cleaned and buffed to show the beautiful original wood. ‘Stud U Love’ Black Leather Tub Chairs

These leather tub chairs had their previous life as an uninspiring navy reception chair until they got the full Glasshouse Girl treatment! The original brown studding was removed and the wooden frames stripped back to the bare wood. The genuine leather upholstery is thick and soft making these chairs incredibly comfortable and has been restained jet black. The frame has been repainted in a modern matte black acrylic paint. Inspired by the work of New York designer Lee Broom, I've made the studding on these chairs their highlight feature. I've selected a range of decorative upholstery studs in different shapes and colours including flowers, footballs, honeycombs, squares, blacks, glitters, silver, chrome and brass. Dimensions: 625mm wide x 590mm deep x 775mm high. If you are looking for a practical and classic chair with a subtle design bite then the 'Stud U Love' Chairs are the perfect piece for you. As with all my pieces, these chairs are preloved and upcycled. The leather is in excellent condition but there are some minor creases / marks in line with their vintage provenance.

Game of Thrones Inspired Cocktail Bureau

This stunning carved solid teak bureau would make the perfect cocktail or drinks cabinet as well as providing loads of storage space. A unique statement piece, you can just imagine the conversations you could have with family and friends around it whilst you prepare drinks and cocktails! It's practical and stylish - what more could you want? The piece has has moved past its dark 1980s style days and brought bang up to date with a grey and white drybrushed finish. This makes it look like stone or metal which changes depending on the light. I've tried to show you this in the photos. The front of the bureau and drawer fronts feature a carved birds and blossom design which is really brought out by the finish. This is what really inspired me to give it the edgy finish as it was so reminiscent of the Game of Thrones intro. The flowers align it with the House of Tyrell but you won't be disappointed if you are feel you're more of a Stark, Lannister, Baratheon or Targaryen. Even if you've never watched GOT and couldn't care less where the inspiration came from, you'll still love its statement modern style! The interior has been painted in sleek black whilst the drawers have been lined with a grey / black snakeskin print paper with just a touch of glitter which adds that little bit of extra style and surprise when open. The original oriental base has been replaced with some simple solid oak 'L' shaped corner feet which brings the styling bang up to date. Dimensions: 460mm deep x 890mm wide x 1010mm tall. I was overjoyed to see a large dresser, bedside table and mirror from my childhood restored after receiving 40 years of abuse, including my own attempt at refurbishing it. Jenny was very good in the initial stages of helping me to define what effect, I wanted to achieve. I sent her examples of a subtle grey lime wash on oak with soft white highlights on a piece I saw in the Cotswolds. She responded with several photos of something similar to clarify the ask, then it was time to send the furniture to her, which was complicated by the fact I was moving house. But we managed to come up with a plan and the movers dropped the furniture at her storage unit the same day. Throughout the process Jenny sent jpeg photos in emails to show me how it was progressing. We were able to make some minor changes after the first piece was almost finished. What I didn’t expect was that the pieces were made of different types of wood and the top of the bedside table was almost destroyed due to water (mostly spilt tea) damage. This was the biggest challenge to overcome because the final look had to be consistent across all three pieces. Jenny rose to the challenge and performed her paint “magic” and the final result is brilliant, better than I could have imagined. The only slight disappointment was due to my own indecisiveness about the brass trim handles and knobs. I wish I had listened to Jenny in the first place when she brightened them up, still - she let me come back with them, conjured up a nice looking sample which she posted to me and soon they will receive the “Glass House Girl” treatment too. Most of all, through all of this, I appreciated the open communication through emails and text, Jenny was on top of it the whole way. Of course, I would highly recommend sending any weary looking furniture to Glass House Girl to brighten up with her magic.

Fantastic service from Jenny. I had my mother’s old Singer sewing machine I wanted making into a lamp. Jenny arranged for the machine to be collected and re-delivered back to my house. When I had a slight problem with the lamp, Jenny arranged for it to be collected so she could make it good again and returned it to me herself at no extra cost to me. She did a BRILLIANT job and the lamp is now standing proudly in my front room in memory of my mum. I would highly recommend Glasshouse girl, honest, trustworthy and marvellous craftswomen. You won’t be disappointed.
